Where does the charging Buffalo rank among the NFL's 32 team logos?

It's been a long-time since the Bills changed its logo. The charging buffalo has been a staple of Western New York and the franchise since its inception in April 5, 1974. Gone was the red standing buffalo that had been the team's mark since 1962. It was replaced by a blue charging buffalo with a red streak, the crowning achievement of artist Stevens Wright.

Over 40 years later, the NFL has seen numerous logo changes, including a leaked supposed re-design of the Los Angeles Rams logo this week sparking For The Win to rank all 32 current NFL logos from best to worst.

Third place was the Bills logo.

A charging buffalo silhouette with a blue and red color scheme is minimalist, yet really effective.

The only two higher were the Steelers and Raiders.

NFL logos, ranked: Where does the Rams' new look land?

March 9, 2020 12:10 pm
Any time a sports franchise re-does its logo or goes under a complete redesign, fans get furious.
That’s been the case with the Los Angeles Chargers, who appeared to have a new logo — which
turned out not to be the case — in 2017 and the Rams, who had a new look leak on Sunday that was roasted (and rightfully so). Will it lead to a re-redesign?
That got us thinking: which logos in the NFL are the best and which ones should also be similarly roasted by fans? Here’s a breakdown, including where the Rams’ new logo belongs on the list.

1. Pittsburgh Steelers: It's simple, it's got a little bit of flair and it represents the city the Steelers play in because it's based on the Steelmark logo used by the American Iron and Steel Institute.

2. Las Vegas Raiders: Make fun of the Oakl– er, Las Vegas Raiders all you want. But that logo is so good. I beg of you, ownership: please don't change this just because you moved to Vegas.

3. Buffalo Bills: A charging buffalo silhouette with a blue and red color scheme is minimalist, yet really effective.

5. Minnesota Vikings: I love all the detail and the colors matching the purple and gold of the Vikes' uniforms. Plus, that mustache!

6. Philadelphia Eagles: Please don't eat me, scary Eagle.

7. Houston Texans: It's funky, but in a good way — there's the Texas state flag colors, the star, the longhorn shape. Solid.

8. Indianapolis Colts: Really glad it's not a horse, because the horseshoe is a good twist.

9. Kansas City Chiefs: Gotta love that there's an arrowhead and that the Chiefs play at Arrowhead.

10. Los Angeles Chargers: Lightning bolts are cool as heck, although this logo sometimes feels a little unfinished. At least the franchise didn't switch to that terrible logo that everyone destroyed in 2017.

11. Dallas Cowboys: Is it TOO simple? Possibly. But you also can't argue that when you see that thing, you know exactly who it refers to. I can't decide if that's because of the franchise or because of the logo, though.

12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: I am very afraid of this logo and the fact that I may have underrated it a little.

13. Miami Dolphins: Logos don't have to be scary. Some of them can be pretty to look at. This logo is pretty.

14. San Francisco 49ers: We're heading toward the middle, which is where this one belongs. Love the coloring, but just the "SF" is okay.

15. Green Bay Packers: I know, it's iconic. But G, it's kind of middle of the, er, pack.

16. Baltimore Ravens: Let's be honest: it doesn't need the giant B.

17. Seattle Seahawks: I've never loved this one because it just looks like the seahawk is frowning.

18. Arizona Cardinals: Also a frowning bird who looks kind of bored.

19. Atlanta Falcons: It's just so busy and too high concept.

20. Jacksonville Jaguars: Threatening, yes. But kind of generic? Yes.

21. Denver Broncos: Why, oh why, did you get rid of the bucking bronco? For this?!

22. Cincinnati Bengals: **Does best Chandler Bing voice** Could this B any more boring? At least there are tiger stripes.

23. Carolina Panthers: The color scheme, the lack of pupils ... nah.

24. Chicago Bears: Yes, it's a classic. But classics can still be boring.

25. New York Jets: A wide-eyed Adam Gase would be a better logo than one that states the team is the New York Jets.

26. New England Patriots: Too busy and the face is weird.

27. Los Angeles Rams: If it was the other logo (pictured here), I'd say it's higher up in the 20s. But the new one belongs down here.

[Image: cwuyv0w15ruuk34j9qnfuoif9.png?w=1000&h=761]
28. Detroit Lions: Anyone who has said this lion is too playful and not threatening enough is correct.

29. Tennessee Titans: I've never liked the comet with the giant T.

30. New York Giants: That's it? An N and a Y?

[Image: im5xz2q9bjbg44xep08bf5czq.gif?w=504&h=545]
31. Washington Redskins: You know the story. The team needs a new name and definitely a new logo.

[Image: 7855_cleveland_browns-primary-2015.png?w=738&h=562]
32. Cleveland Browns: That's really the logo: the Browns' not-brown helmet. C'mon.
